Does Regularized Periods Mean Cured PCOS?

I was diagnosed with the condition called PCOS. I stopped taking birth control for 2 years now. I have been having regular periods for almost a year. The only symptoms I had with PCOS was the irregular periods. I was wondering since my periods are getting regular, Is my pcos going away?

Hello,
It is difficult to say if the condition has abated just by observing the cycles since anovulatory cycles also can be regular. To say that PCOD has abated, regular ovulation must be established and the ovaries should remain clear of multiple follicles and/or cysts. It is also true that the condition is known for spontaneous correction after some initial treatment. Sometimes, pregnancy corrects the hormonal imbalance later on and so is maintenance of a proper weight and regular exercise. Please get a clinical evaluation to know the hormone state. Hope this helps.
