Does Removal Of Parathyroid Gland Cause Profuse Sweating And Chills?
I am 47 years old, and for the past 4-5 weeks, I have had sudden onsets of profuse sweating that occurs mostly while I'm asleep and seemingly often before my alarm sounds. However, it happens during the day but it seems milder. I had a parathyroid glad removed in December and am wondering if this has anything to do with these attacks. I also go from being extremely hot to extremely cold after the flash of heat. One more thing, I am having a difficult time getting my bowel movements to be regular. Miralax doesn't work and I took 3 Ducalax tablets Sunday evening, was haven't had a movement since early Monday morning.
Hello and thank you for asking on HCM! I have gone carefully through your concern. The symptoms you reported are suggestive for calcium level fluctuation. The over production of calcium prior to parathyroid gland removal should be substituted by normal calcium levels now. I would recommend to check the Calcium, magnesium, phosphates and PTH level.
