Does Sharp Pain In Knee Subside On Its Own?

I nailed my knee hard on a plane trying to jump in for a skydive a little over a week ago. After a hour or so it goose egged a little and had me limping for 2 days, but time has gone by and I still can t bend it all the way without sharp pain at the end of the bend. I ve closely studied and compared to my other knee and I don t believe I broke or fractured anything. Do I leave it alone to heal? Should I be trying to stretch it?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I have studied your case and I think it can be a serious issue. I would recommend you to meet a orthopedic surgeon and get your knee examined. There is high chances that you may have injured your knee ligament. If there is any sign of laxity, your doctor may recommend you to get MRI of the knee joint. This will confirm the diagnosis if there is any meniscus or a ligament injury. It might need knee brace or a arthroscopic surgery.
I would also recommend you to avoid any massage or manipulation. If there is any swelling, you should apply ice over it and then compression bandage. If there is pain then you can take Brufen for pain relief
