Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my mother is diagnosed with Septal Wall Ischemia. She is 57 years old. She is prescribed with Simvastatin and Trimetazidine? is that enough? or does she need any other medication such as Clopidogrel? how serious is this condition? what is the prognosis? Thank you so much.
Hi & Welcome. I appreciate your concern for your mother's illness.
Yes, she needs to take Clopidogrel to keep the blood thin and hence to prevent the clot formation in the arteries of the heart. Simvastatin is prescribed to lower her cholesterol level thus preventing the clot formation again. Trimetazidine is used to treat chest pain of ischemia.
If she is comfortable with day to day physical activity, condition is not so serious. Prognosis depends upon her angiography report.
She is required to take all the prescribed medications.
Click thanks.
