Hi & Welcome.
Both the mentioned drugs are used to treat the problems with urination, hesitancy, incomplete emptying, increased urgency & retention of urine associated with
enlarged prostate gland.
However, they differ in their composition.
1. Sildura contains Silodosin which is an alpha-blocker. It works by relaxing muscles in the prostate and
urinary bladder, which helps to improve urine flow and reduce symptoms of BPH.
2. Whereas Sildura combo pack contains Siodosin and Dutasteride.
Dutasteride is a
5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, which is also prescribed for an enlarged prostate treatment. It blocks the production of a male hormone (
testosterone) and helps in the reduction of the size of the enlarged prostate gland.
Taking Sildura combo pack instead of Sildura (alone) can more effectively improve symptoms, urinary flow, and quality of life. The combo pack also prevents BPH from getting worse. But there may be more side effects.
There may be side effects from each drug.
So, consult your treating
urologist for proper instruction and guidance.
Hope this will help.
Take care.
