Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Slight Rectal Bleeding Need Immediate Medical Attention?
I am a 63 year old woman. I have had some rectal bleeding since yesterday. It is very little but consistent. I have mild diverticulosis but never have had any symptoms from that. I have a hernia from laproscopic surgery to remove my appendics. Should I attend to it today by going to the ER or wait until my regular doctors appt on Tues.
Your symptoms seem to be related to haemorrhoids. I would recommend using anti haemorrhoids cream for local application. I also recommend soaking in warm water for relief.
In, my opinion your symptoms can wait until the appointment with your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
