Hello,
I understand your concern. Piles are swollen blood vessels of the anus and rectum which are caused by an unhealthy diet consisting of very little fiber and high in sugar, a low activity lifestyle,
dehydration and
constipation which in turn leads to application of high pressure while defecating, hence creating and worsening of piles.
Cigarette smoking, while not the cause of your anal pain, does contribute to the formation of piles, due to the fact that it causes narrowing of the blood vessels, leading to poor circulation, causing the blood to back up in the veins and leading to worsening of piles.
The reason for your anal pain is a possible
anal fissure, that is a tearing of the inner moist lining of the anus.
A diet change with a lot of fiber contained in fruit and vegetable, plenty of water and more mobility, will help with both the anal fissure and the piles. Taking a pain killer like
acetaminophen or ibuprofen for the pain is the sensible thing to do. Also switching to a cream for piles which contains an analgesic would greatly help.
Wishing you a fast recovery and all the best.
