Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is recently used meth just excreted dark brown would like to say black urine. I guess the preceding night as he first inhaled the drug after nearly a year sobriety streak instantly started doing strenuous exercise for several hours without stretching. He went through a gallon of water and 10 16.9 oz water bottles and claimed he urinated about every 10 to 15minutes. Then he visted his girlfriend for the remainder of the last 48 hours and engaged in sexual intercourse. The urine looked pretty scary black and now it has a cloudy murky look in the specimen and has a bit of a foul smell. I'm thinking it could be the possibility of semen causing that. He didn't eat for the first 24 to 30 hours and probably expierienced stomach shrinkage and therefore can't keep down any food but one turkey sandwich he had made 12hours prior which eventually came up. With his last attempt to urinate it was very difficult for him he said and after completing urinating he was complaining of lower back pains where the kidneys would be located. He's a rare drinker and was recently tested for Hepatitis ABC. He's expiercienced non stop cramping muscles and short spurts of numbness in his legs. and was sweating an overwhelming amount and it all of a sudden stopped. But wasn't phased by the 45 degree weather. He can barely hold out his arms to even brush his teeth. And is tending to walk funny.
It appears that the heavy exercise he did led to muscle damage and caused the release of a protein called myoglobin into the blood and thence into the urine, resulting in dark discoloration. Since myoglobinuria is often associated with kidney damage, I would suggest that your son should consult a doctor as soon as possible.
Best wishes.
