Does Sotret Have Any Side Effects On Acne Scars Treatment?

i am suffering from acne scars. so doctor told me to have a chemical peel then after a week from my peel doctor insisted to take sotret(10 mg)alternate days,aconovin,faceclin-a gel twice a day use. but i afraid about hte sideeffects the sotret may cause

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of acne scars on face which occurs when a pore in your skin gets clogged, usually with dead skin cells. Need not to worry. As you are taking chemical peel and you have to use Sotret after that which is good for use in case of acne and it does not give much side effects. You have to take it for few months and start again after a gap to avoid dependency. Exfoliate gently once or twice a day with a salicylic acid-based exfoliant. Apply benzoyl peroxide cream or gel for killing the bacteria in the pore. Wash your face using a mild soap or cleanser and lukewarm water. If condition doesn't improve in a 4 weeks then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe oral antibiotics like clindamycin , Isotretinoin or Hormone Therapy.
