Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my son swallowed a little piece of plastic no bigger than a pen cap and it bends easily. i checked his waste and found little pieces of plastic, did the stomach acid broke it down or is it still inside or what.He told me he chewed it for a while before swallowing.
Hi,Welcome to Health care magic forum. It appears that it is the rubber material, when chewed it will break into small pieces. The thing is whether it is reacting with the gastric acid, or not. I advise you to consult a surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have a Ultra sound scanning for locating the plastic pieces, and to find the prognosis. I advise you to give him 2or 3 bananas daily, which can sweep any foreign materials even the metal, and observe the stools daily. Give him plenty of water. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
