Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Stomach Infection Cause Joint Ache And Elevated Body Temperature?
My husband has been really ill today. My in-laws had a stomach bug go through their family last week. My hubby hasn't thrown up but has been very nauseated and has had severe diarrhea. He also is super achy and his joints are painful. He goes from freezing cold to hit. His skin is hot to the touch. I'm most concerned about the joint pain. Is it normal?
It sounds like a reactive arthritis, i.e., a joint manifestation of a gastroenteritis. It is normal, but if your husband is very ill or has a fever, I suggest you see a doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen
