Does Stopping A Hormone Blocker Pill Cause Cancer To Recur?
I am taking Femara which has exacerbated my arthritis. I had a partial mastectomy last November for lobular ductile carcinoma. This was a new occurrence after having DCI in situ in 2005. I am 62 years old and do not want to slow down at this time in my life. I want to know what my chances would be of getting cancer again if I stopped taking a hormone blocker.

Does Stopping A Hormone Blocker Pill Cause Cancer To Recur?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Yes femera is useful for 1. Reduced the risk of the cancer coming back 2. Reduced the risk of the cancer spreading to another part of the body. So you have to continue it otherwise chances of recurrence is high. Still have doubts please feel free to ask. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
