Does Sudden Withdrawal From Seroquel Cause Any Side Effects?

My 87 year old dad is my 86 year old mom s Parkinson s Disease caregiver. Yesterday he decided on his own to stop giving my mom her one-half of a 25mg pill of Seroquel. She has been taking them as prescribed for a few days, since March 16th. Her doctor s office is closed today so I cannot ask him what we should do. Is this a serious risk to mom s health to stop the 1/2 pill cold turkey? Dad did not take our advice and call the doctor yesterday as he should have. (he is a vibrant 87 year old, has all his wits about him, but is stubborn) Any info you can give me today would help...until I can reach her doctor tomorrow to tell him that my dad has stopped giving it to her. Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If this is the Parkinson's disease is there and medicine is the issue for this then let me inform you that medicine of the disease has to be started by the physician only and no one else suppose to give any medicine to patient, it does not make any difference if the therapy being started few days later it is nothing to worry if can see the doctor couple of days late.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
