My step-daughter had a stroke when she was 14. Not sure why. She is now 16. Her mother wants to take her tanning because she will be working as a life guard this summer and says it will be better to keep her from getting burnt. I am concerned because we do not know what caused the stroke, should she be tanning, not to mention the risk of skin cancer.
hi, thanks for putting up your query on HCM. sir, as per your history, she had stroke 2 years back, that could be due to blockage or breakage in the blood vessels of brain. -stroke has no correlation with sun exposure. - tanning is due to ultravoilet radiations coing from sun which has nothing to do with stroke. - you can expose her to sun without any worry or fear. - skin cancer only occurs at a later age, after a prolonged exposure to sun. - to prevent it, she can use good sunscreens of spf more than 30. thank you.
