Does Sweating Aggravate The Itching While Suffering From Scabies?
Hi. I was diagnosed with scabies 3 weeks ago. I have taken two rounds of permtherin cream and ivermectin both a week apart. I’ve washed and clean everything in my house. I under that it may take awhile for the itching sensation to disappear. But now when I sweat the itching is so much worse on the areas where I’m sweating a lot. Is that normal does the scabbies itch get worse with sweat?
If you have completed the course of scabies treatment, you do not need to worry. You could take the antihistamine prescribed by your doctor. The rash could be a miliaria (prickly heat).
If you have completed scabies treatment, you can apply calamine lotion. If your itch does not resolve in a week, you should consult your Dermatologist for further management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Siva Subramanian, Dermatologist
