Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Taking Acetaminophen Along With Apixaban And Tenormin Cause Any Side Effects?
Acetaminophen is NOT a NSAID, correct? If so, then what type of drug is it? Are there adverse affects of this drug taken with apixaban and tenormin? Acetaminophen is taken for sinus headaches and head aches in general. Can there be a reverse affect when taking too much? In other words, head aches return or are compounded. How much is too much?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Acetaminophen belongs to a class of drugs called analgesics (pain relievers) and antipyretics (fever reducers).
The exact mechanism of action of Acetaminophen is not known. It may reduce the production of prostaglandins in the brain. Prostaglandins are chemicals that cause inflammation and swelling. Acetaminophen relieves pain by elevating the pain threshold, that is, by requiring a greater amount of pain to develop before a person feels it.
Drugs you have mentioned us least likely having interactions.
Still have queries please feel free to ask.
Take care.
