Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i used to take Ativan some nights to help me sleep, when I had a challenging day ahead of me. It always helped me stay focused. I have read that it might cause memory problems, which is something I definitely don t need. Would it still affect my memory if I only took it occasionally, like once a week?
Ativan can cause memory loss in elderly population. The occurrence of memory loss is more if Ativan is used daily at higher doses. Occasional use preferably at lower doses (1-2 mg/day) will not cause memory loss.
