Does Taking Distaph 500 Cause Diarrhea, Heart Burn And Tiredness?
Hi I have a cyst on my left leg it is infected, about the size of a half golf ball. Ive been prescribed distaph 500 4 times per day and have been taking for 72 hrs. There are no signs of improvement or worsening of the cyst I have experienced mild diarrhea, heart burn and tiredness. Should this medicine have had an effect on this by now seeing im half way through the course of medicine
Distaph is Dicloxacillin , an antibiotic which is a semisynthetic penicillin. Diarrhoea, nausea, heart burn are some of the common side effects of Diastaph. Since these are only mild side effects it is better for you to complete the course prescribed by your doctor. You could take a proton pump inhibitor every morning before your breakfast and it would help you with the heart burn. If symptoms get worse you should contact your doctor and request him to review your treatment. Hope you will get well soon. Dr. Noble Zachariah
