Does Taking Escitalopram 20mg Cause Bright Yellow Odorous Urine?
Hello, 38 yo male 285lbs. Taking Escitalopram 20mg 2x bid. PTSD. Anxiety. Social Disorders. Have been taking this script for about 4 yrs now, but recently had to go off of it because of the cost. Am back on. Noticed bright yellow and odorous urine since being back on. Is this a concern? I am having no pain or itching. I don t drink a lot of water. Usually I drink Mt Dew, Apple juice, Grape Juice or Coffee. Thank you for your time.
Escitalopram does not cause yellow coloration of urine or odorous urine; however, it can cause urinary tract infection which may change the color or add fishy /foul smell to the urine. I suggest going for a urine routine analysis. Dietary supplements like Mt Dew, Apple juice, Grape Juice or Coffee are unlikely to be the causative agents.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
