Does Taking Lipitor Affect The Health In A Diabetic Patient?

I saw on t.v, that if your taking Lipitor and have diabetes to call a number because of the problems. I take Lipitor (Atorvastatin) When I told my Dr. that I was not taking it any more, then he put me on Atorvastatin which I now know as Lipitor... What is going on?

Yes, the latest recommendations state that the diabetics should be on a low dose of statins. however, for a more specific dose, a lipid profile test should be done.

some experts however say that the added dose of statins is not always required.

and watch for the side effects of statins like myalgia, weakness, bodyache etc.
