Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 21 year old female. I suffer from chronic asthma and have been sick for a month with pharyngitis, a lung infection and an upper chest infection. I have been taken augementum, and was taking ketek. I have finished my period four days ago but i found a bit of blood on my underwear when i went too the bathroom earlier. I wanted too know if the spotting could be caused from taking so much medication, or if it is something I should be concerned about? please help, this has never happened too me before and was a bit of a shock.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Spotting or breakthrough bleeding can be a side effect of antibiotics such as Augmentin and Ketek. However, it is important to note that spotting can also be caused by other factors such as hormonal imbalances, stress, or an underlying medical condition. It is recommended that you consult with your healthcare provider to determine the cause of your spotting and whether any further evaluation or treatment is needed. They may also be able to suggest alternative medications if needed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
