Does Taking Betnesol Steroid During Pregnancy Increase Baby Weight Later?
We have completed 33 weeks of pregnancy. (In our past record one baby was dead due to high blood pressure with mother and less water & during scissor operation..the heart beat of baby went down & off.).
So this time we are on ecospirin to avoid high blood pressure....rest everything is normal too...now doctor has suggested to take 2 doses of betnesol 4 mg . Does this steroid increase baby weight later? Or cause sexual problems in baby? Will baby have physical problems? Will mother be affected? ....mother can easily stretch delivery to upto 38 weeks....will fetus have poor lungs that time?
Betnesol is completely safe in pregnancy and is prescribed to avoid lung problems in baby in case an early intervention is required i.e. if there is a chance of delivery prior to 40 weeks of pregnancy. Din't worry too much, this baby will be fine.
