Does Taking Flagyl Cause Early Periods Or Light Flow?
Hi, I am 32 year old female. I am currently on my last day of a one week course of flagyl (400 MG) for a dental absess. I am mid cycle (13 days away from my next period) and have today started to bleed. It is only a light flow but I am never irregular and my cycle is always 30 days. I have swollen glands in the back of my neck which I assume are as a result of the dental absess. Is it possible that Flagyl can bring on your period early or is it possible that you can have a light flow of blood when ovulating as I would have ovulated yesterday. I was under a lot of stress over the last number of weeks as I was made redundant but now I have got a new job and have no reason to be stressed. Is it possible that my period came early as a result of the stress over the last few weeks. I am concerned as it has never happened to me before.
It is not related to flagyl (metrogyl). Systemic infection and stress can make your periods irregular.
If periods are persistently irregular, bettet to consult a gynecologist and get evaluated. In that case, we have to rule out conditions like PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome).
