Does The Elevated BP Even After Taking Double Dosage Tablets Needs Emergency Attention?

Hi my wife went to the doctor yesterday because of high blood pressure. The doctor doubled her dose of medication and she has been on this increased dosage for a day and a half. Her blood pressure is 247 over 100 and something again today. Does this require immediate emergency attention, or reporting to the doctor in the morning sufficient?
