Does The Knuckle Of Index Finger Show Bone Injury?

Hello, 2 wks ago a kid kicked my son in the right hand! The nurse at school put ice on it and said it looked better. Last night we noticed his knuckle in his index finger is shoved back about an inch from were it should be. He said it doesn t hurt. Is it possible it s broke and healed over the past 2 wks? How is it put back into place?
