Does The Large Quantity Of Folic Acid Create Problem?

My daughter takes 400 mcg Folic acid supplement daily while taking 15mg (6 - 2.5 tablets) Methotrexate every Friday night. Last night she mistakenly took 6 of the folic acid tablets instead of the methotrexate. We just discovered this when she returned from staying the night with her father. It has not made her sick. I gave her the methotrexate tonight. Is this large quantity of folic acid a problem?

Hello,
Thank You for the query at HealthcareMagic

Taking higher than recommended doses of Folic acid do not cause any problems or toxicity.
However try avoiding taking excess folic acid .as it can reduce the efficacy of methotrexate. Since in your case, it happened only once ,efficacy of methotrexate will not be affected. But please be advised to be careful in future.

Hope I was able to help you
Please address any more concerns
