Does The Presence Of Ketone Proteins In Urine Indicates A Kidney Problem?

Hi, I have severe lupus with major organ involvement. My pericardium, left lung, skin and most recently autoimmune hepatitis. I have had lupus for 28 years and am curently taking cellcept and a myriad of other medications. Recently, I have learned that a) there has been blood in my urine and b) that ketone protiens were discovered. Does this indicate possible kidney involvement?

Hello and thank you for asking HCM.

I have read your medical reports that you have written above and i understand your concerns.

-proteine in your urine (depending from the amount) and blood, it usually means a kidney condition. Lupus can get at your kidneys, but so are other kind of conditions, for example en infection ect. So i suggest you check up with a nephrologyst to check your kidneys and do some blood tests for their function.

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.
