Does The Stopping Of Pizotifien Effect The Quality Of Sleep?
I keep wakening 2-3 times every night and im exhausted during the day keep yawning at work its getting me down Gp said nothing to worry about as all bloods fine. I was taking pizotifien for migraines for about 2 years and thought I would come off these as they made me gain weight and get about 1 migraine a year anyway. Thought the pizotifien was affecting my sleep etc... Have been off them for about 2 weeks but still dont feel any better? Please help
thank you for asking me through HCM... you were taking pizotifen since 2 years. the drug is included in anti histaminic group which had side effect of sedation and sleepiness. prolonged use of the drug leads to some partial dependency on drug for sleep, which is alleviated after some time. taper the drug, start taking alternate day, then every two days, then biweekly, then weekly and then stop.
