Does The Strong Sex Drive Have Something To Do With The Cyst?
I'm a 42 yr old female with diagnosis of cyst on my right ovary. I have appointments to be seen but am waiting because their openings were 2 months out. I have had very heavy cycles for a few months and now I'm experiencing a stronger than normal sex drive. Is this normal for my age or does this have something to do with the cyst?
Hello,Hormonal changes take place in peri menopausal phase. The libido, or sex drive, is changing during this phase hence some women may experience an increase in libido, while others experience a decrease. It is not related to the ovarian cyst but is related to hormonal changes in the perimenopausal and menopausal phase. In peri menopausal phase failure of the egg to fully ripen and ovulate cause hormonal imbalance, resulting in depression, distress, prolonged PMS symptoms, abdominal and sexual pain, all of which can decrease libido. It is good that you are not suffering from decreased libido. You are suggested to get ovarian cyst treated at the earliest.Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
