Does The Thyroid Levels Indicate A Need For Thyroid Replacement?
I had a partial thyroidecotomy due to a 3.5 follicular adenoma on January 7 2014. For the past 5 months my thyroid levels have flunctuated a lot. My free t4 seems to stay between .7 and .89 and my TSH between 1.3 and 3.4. Are these constant shifts causing my hypo symptoms and should I be on thyroid replacement at these levels? I am NOT on any thyroid replacement right now. thank you. My pre-surgery TSH was .8 and Free T4 was around 1.2.
I have gone carefully through your concern and i can understand your query.
With the result of the hormonal levels that you prescribed your symptoms are not related to thyroid, because the result shows that the part of thyroid gland left compensates the function.
You didn't mention your gender and age, but if you are a female and are trying to conceive than the TSH level should be under 2.5 and the hormonal level should be monitored closely during pregnancy. Hope i was helpful.
Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta
