Does Touching Of Potassium Polysulfide Is Dangerous

Hi, I make jewelry and use liver of sulphur (potassium polysulfide) to add a patina to metal. I was always told that this was safe to use, but recently met another jewelry professional that indicated that it was highly toxic and very dangerous to use. Now I have completely conflicting reports on the safety of this product. What is the truth? Is it safe or not?
