Does Trouble Swallowing And Prominent Veins Of The Throat Indicate Strep Infection?

Hi I have recently had trouble swallowing and have had a cold for about a week. I also have been running a lot outside lately and today I noticed two dark purple veins running down the back of my throat. I am unsure if my throat is just irritated from running, or if I may have strep throat.

It does not sound like a strep throat, probably a viral infection or allergic inflammation.
Try Disprin or warm saline gargles and inhale steam. Avoid smoking but continue with your exercise; drink plenty of water.
