Does Ulcerative Proctitis Cause White Coloured Stools
I am a 26 year old healthy woman but i was diagnosed with ulcerative proctitis 2 years ago and have flare-ups a few times a year. For the past few weeks i have been having what i believe to be another flare up but i have had white colored stool for 2 days straight which has not happened in the past. Could this be part of my ulcerative proctitis or something else?
This ulcerative colitis may cause prone to infection by Giardia, amebiasis or shigella or salmonella. It may be due to exudates from ulcers or due to inflammation. You need to collect the stool and get examined by microscopy and stool culture.
Tablet AmoxicillinClavulanate thrice a day and tablet Metrogyl thrice a day is useful. If you are feeling any reaction to above drugs stop immediately and attend Emergency room.
If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
