Does Varicocele Surgery Have Any Side Effects?

Hi doctor ,
Do Varicocele surgery had any complications, such as infections and other side effects?
After surgery is there any guarantee to improved fertility levels?
I suspect i might have varicocele but feels not willing do the test because I researched on the net that there is no hope for people with testicular varicocele. Pls advise if u can
