Does Vp Shunt Implantation Causes Severe Neck And Abdominal Pain?

Hi There, my husband had a vp shunt implanted 11 days ago, he s now back home and doing ok, although he s been experiencing neck and abdominal pein, sometimes severe and it comes and go. If it wasn t for that he would be really well, shall we be concerned? is it related to the shunt? thank you

Hi. This is a big concern. This may be due to an infection so the headache and abdominal pain. I would advise you to visit the Doctor immediately. He may need an admission and higher antibiotics .
