Does Weaning Off From Levoxyl Cause Diarrhea?

I have had loose bowel to diahhrea for 4 weeks now. I will go a day maybe two, no problem, then it comes back like the first episode. I have been off of all milk products for 2 1/2 weeks. I was taking Levoxyl for Hypothroidism and have been weening myself off due to Dr. orders. Any suggestions?

Gastroenterologist 's  Response
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM). It may due to two reasons1. May be your thyroxine levels has increased which may cause diarrhoea. Also your doctor has advised to decrase the dose. 2. It may be totally unrelated to your thyroid profile and may be due to some GI infections or some malabsorption for which I will advise you to revisit your doctor so that you can be evaluated.
I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to answer that too. Remain in touch and get-well soon.
