Does Weight Has Influence On Risk Of Down Syndrome?

Hi, I received the results of my quad screen test, which indicated increased risk for down syndrom. I noticed, however, that the wrong number is indicated for my weight (138 lbs, whereas in fact it´s more like 126 lbs). I´ve read the weight has the influence on the calculation of risks. Does it mean the results of the test are not reliable? My results are: AFP 0.93, hCG 2.95, uE3 1.46, Inhibin-A - 2.62. Thank you

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Weight does contribute in a mild way to this possibility but not entirely and is only considered an additional risk factor. The difference in measurement, or rather the recorded error is too negligle to make a difference and I do not think there should be anything to worry about.

Stay healthy and eat healthy. Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
