Done Surgery For Pain Pump With Morphine. Worried About Side Effects Of Dilaudid
I have recently had surgery receiving the pain pump, which is filled with Morphine but I'm still expriencing pain level of about a 4 and sewlling in my feet, I have been advised that I might have to be switched to Dilaudid and I'm concerned about the side effects. I only take BP medication and stool softner. How concerned should I about having my pump medicine changed to Dilaudid?

Done Surgery For Pain Pump With Morphine. Worried About Side Effects Of Dilaudid
Hi Thanks for asking. DILAUDID (hydromorphone hydrochloride), a hydrogenated ketone of morphine, is an opioid analgesic. It is also a opioid analgesic with the properties nearly same as the morphine. The effects and the side effects are nearly the same as the morphine. Majority of them are short term measures,so there is no need to worry about with the change. Thanks.
