Dry Throat, Feeling Of Swallowing Sand After Waking Up, Gagging. Any Ideas?

When I lay down. Even to read a book. My throat becomes extremely dry to the point of gagging. I am breathing through my nose only. When I sleep I wake up and feel like I swallowed a bag of sand.
Why is this?
During the day I randomly feel like I cant breath because out of no where my throat gets so dry. Its embarrassing sometimes because I gag.
please help.

Hi, it appears that you might be having the swelling of the trabiculae in the nose, due to which you may have blocked nose, and difficulty in breathing.
So i advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. you may need to have an M.R.I. for confirmation of the sinusitis.
