Elevated Heart Rate, Shortness Of Breath. What Is Causing This?
Hi I am 41 years old female and this morning at work I felt like my heart was going to pond through my chest and I was short of breath. A little later when I felt that my heart rate had settled down my boss checked my pulse which was 121 bpm. ( I had not done any exercise or running, I had just driven into work) my weight is 97kg and my height is 5 ft 10in. What advise would can you offer?
i am mentioning some cause of tacycardia-
Anxiety, anemia , hyperthyrodism
Consuming large quantities of alcohol regularly
Consuming large quantities of caffeine, certain drugs
Genetics -
Heart disease
Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Mental stress
Smoking
atrial fibrillation/ flutter/ SVT
you have not mentioned whether you are hypertensive - most probable you will hypertensive b/c you are much obese ( so please control your weight- obesity can cause tachycardia.
and go for blood tests- to rule out anemia/thyroid disorder/electrolyte problem
ecg/echo
holter monitring - to rule out SVT/AF/AFIB
24 hour urine for VMA ( TO RULE OUT INCREASE SYMPATHETIC ACTIVITY
