Enlargement In Thyroid Gland. Normal Hormone Analysis, Ultrasonography Shows Benign Tumor. Suggestions?
Hello doctor, i'm a female 23years old, 3 months ago i've noticed a very small enlargment in right of thyroid gland..i made hormone analysis( TSH, free T4) it was in normal range..but neck ultrasongraphy indicted that i have small enlargment in the right lobe of thyroid gland measured about 20*17 mm...so my doctor told me that it's a benign tumor and didn't give me any medications and just told me to keep checking up gradually..but these days i fell that it be come bigger, i'm very worried to remove it and take hormone for the rest of my life...please tell me what should I do??
Dear Ma'm, Hi! benign thyroid nodules need not be bothered about. You definitely need FNAC to confirm that the nodule is benign, once it is done and confirmed to be benign then forget about it. Functionally normal thyroid does not require intervention. Regards!
