Epididymitis Diagnosed, Prescribed Ciproflaxin. How Long It Takes To Start Intercourse?
Hi, my partner was diagnosed with epididymitis yesterday - the doctor didnt do any further tests but prescribed him ciproflaxin in case it was caused by an STD. She also gave me a course as well. Can you tell me how long you think it takes for epididymitis to go and how long we need to wait before resuming intercourse, I wouldnt want us to re-infect one another again.
Epididymitis is an infection that should get cured after taking antibiotics for required duration. As both of you are on Ciprofloxacin there is no need to worry. You can have unprotected sexual intercourse in 15 days time. You can have sex using condoms even now. There is nothing to worry.
Hi and welcome to HCM. At least 14 days are necessary for antibioitc to work and infection to go away. so in this period and 1 week after it is not recomendded to have intercourses as it may be painful and cause infection progression. if symptoms perists for more than 2 weeks you should do tests to verify exact microbe and then antibiotic can be switched to right one. Wish you good health.Regards
