Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thank you for your query.
Let me help you by providing details on all the results one by one.
A partially distended
gallbladder means that the
gall bladder is slightly stretched. This could be due to the following reasons:
-Hydrops of the gallbladder (GB)
-Calculus or other forms of obstruction of GB
and a few other reasons. The cause can also be found with an
ultrasound sometimes or a more specific investigation
The "?healed granuloma". A granuloma is formed as a immune response to wall off any substances that are considered foreign. This is normal and need not be a cause of concern.
"mild left hydronephrosis". Hydronephrosis of the left kidney refers to the collection of water in the kidney (left-in your case) causing slight distension and dilation, which is usually caused by the obstruction of the flow of urine from the kidney.
"Thickened
urinary bladder wall" is called
cystitis. This thickening is usually caused by some bacterial infection. Will have to be further investigated.
"Grade 1 prostatomegaly" is the enlargement of the
prostate, which is very mild. This enlargement is not considered abnormal taking into consideration your fathers age. As enlargement of the prostate is an age-related condition, usually seen in patients above the age of 50.
In my opinion the best doctor to visit right now would be a
urologist for a suspected infection; and a gastroenterologist for the GB distension, to rule out any underlying conditions.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.
Best wishes.
