Experiencing Tachycardia After Being On Duromine. Should I Cease The Medication ?
I've been experiencing tachycardia after 8 days on duromine so decided to not take the tablet this morning. I only began to experience the tachycardia last night. Is this a reason to cease the medication. After 8 days I've not lost any weight. At first I thought I'd lost 1 kg but regained it again in the last two days. It does suppress appetite but not by that much.

Side effects of duromine are increase in blood pressure and heart rate,insomnia,restlessness etc.If a person experiences such type of side effects after using duromine,then it is better to avoid using duromine.
You may adopt alternative approaches to reduce weight which includes dietary control,exercises and consultation and advise fom a dietician.

One of the major actions of Duromine is to stimulate the release of norepinephrine; a primary neurotransmitter for sympathetic nervous system. Increase in norepinephrine causes various effects on the body such as burning fat and subsequent weight loss. However, it also stimulates the heart to increase its activity and therefore the common side effect is tachycardia. Also short term use of Duromine quickly develops tolerance and causes rebound weight gain.
In order to loose weight I will advise you to adopt lifestyle that includes diet control and exercise. Also, I will recommend doing a blood lipid profile to see if there is any increase in cholesterol and triglyceride. If they come back normal and your general health is otherwise good then you do not have to take any pills for weight loss, including Duromine. Diet and exercise should suffice your need. In this regard I will recommend seeing a dietician.
