Experiencing Bloating, Cramping And Multiple Bowel Movements After Hysterectomy
I had a surgery 2 weeks ago, total hysterectomy - via laser. I have having issues with bloating, gas, painful cramping, multiple bowel movements each day. How long will this last? I am only using 800 mg motrin 3 x daily. Avoiding foods that create gas & bloating.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the short and specific history of hysterectomy by laser/Laparoscopy followed by cramping, multiple bowel movements, gas and bloating in spite of avoiding foods that cause gases. Taking Motrin 800 thrice daily alone. The causes can be infection in the pelvis irritating the bowel and thus causing the symptoms that you have. I would advise you the following: Ultrasonography and CT scan of the abdomen to know the exact position. Tests of stool and blood to see for evidence of an infection. If positive, get a course of an antibiotic and see for the results. You may stop Motrin 800 if there is no pain.
