Hi I hit my head this morning really hard on my fridge reaching to grab something. Shortly after I felt nauseas and really tired so I went to sleep for a few hours. When I woke up I had a terrible headache and still do. I have never hit my head this hard before. I was just nervous that I had a concussion.
Hello! I read your question and understand your concern. Headache is very common after a brain concussion. There is nothing to worry about it. It will improve in the next days. I would recommend you to have some rest, avoid straining physical activity and a possible second head trauma. If the headache doesn't improve or even worsens, and other symptoms like gait imbalance or numbness in the limbs, I would recommend you to go to the emergency room and have a brain CT scan to rule out a possible intracranial hemorrhage. For the pain I would recommend acetaminophen or ibuprofen for some days. Hope to have been of help! Greetings! Dr. Abaz Quka
