Experiencing Pain Between Ribcage And Hip. Have Pain Radiating To Ribcage At Back. Ibuprofen Helps. Cause?

Hi I have been experiencing some pain on my right side between my ribcage and hip/ovary area that has gradually intensified as the day has gone on. It is not a sharp pain but incredibly uncomfortable. At first I thought perhaps an infection, but the pain as progressed that it radiates straight through to my back around the side kind of up to the ribcage in the back. I came home and laid down after taking some ibuprofen and dozed for about an hour. When I awoke it seemed a little better, but when I got up to use the restroom the pressure was there again in all the above locations. Not sure if it is appendicitis, I had a bladder sling in April of 2012 worried that it could be related to that. But at this point not sure if I should go to the emergency room or a medlink type place. I do not feel sick and not running a fever. But the pain does intensify as I am in a more upright position. What is your opinion

THIS MAY BE RELATED TO GALL BLADDER
KIDNEY INFECTION OR PELVIC CAVITYINFECTION OR OTHER ORGAN
GET ULTRASOUND ABDOMEN AND FIND THE CAUSE ACCORDINGLY SEE UROLOGIST GASTROENTEROLOGIST OR GYNAEC
YOU CAN USE SHORT COURSE OF METRONIDAZOLE
ANTISPASMODIC TAB SOS AND ANTACID GEL TDS
MORE WARM WATER
BUT DONT DELAY IN DIAGNOSING AS YOU ALREADY IS NEGLECTING FOR LONG

General Surgeon Dr. M Y Shareef's  Response
Hi ! From your history, we can not exclude a urinary tract infection along with a urinary stone. I would suggest you to go for a routine urine test followed by a culture and sensitivity test to start appropriate antibiotics. I would also suggest you to get an ultrasound done to exclude/confirm a urinary calculi. In case all these do not help and the pain goes on increasing, then you should get yourself examined in the ER of the nearest hospital to exclude any chance of an appendicitis causing the trouble. Further management will depend on the investigation reports, and clinical examination by your doctor. Wishing you an early recovery.
