Extensive Bruising Around Incision Area Of Hysterectomy, Vaginal Area Black Purple Bruised. Is It Normal ?
I just had a hysterectomy last Tues. and I have extensive bruising around my incision, which I was expecting. However what I wasn't excepting was for my whole vagina area be a black purple bruising? Seriously the whole thing looks black and the bruising is now spreading down into my thighs. Is all of this normal? Thanks, AAAAA
Having that much bruising and discoloration is some what unusual. So you once consult gynecologist and get examined. If she advices better to go for complete blood picture and coagulation profile once. If the discoloration is due to local manipulation during surgery, that will resolve soon. If there are any coagulation abnormalities, you may need to transfuse the required factors. If there is any local infection, antibiotics are suffice.
