Eye Gunk When Sleeping. Diagnosed For Vitamin D Deficiency Long Back. Remedy?

Hi, My Mom is 66 years old. She is getting eye"gunk" when sleeping. She is very weak, and can not work. She gets very nauseus and has diarrhea. She has had all of these symptoms for two weeks. Her doctor thought she might have a virus, but it has been longer than 10 days. She is now on antibiotics, but they are not helping. She had a chest x-ray, and pneumonia has been ruled out. I am very worried. She is not improving. Do you have any suggestions on what she may have? Could it be related to a vitamin deficiency? She was told she was very low on vitamin D a few years ago. I don't believe she took any supplements. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thank you, Angela Sizemore.
