Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My brother-in-law fell from a two story building 3 weeks ago and he got front right eye area skull fracture. He also had rib cage fracture from this fall and he had chest air/hematoma. Now his conditions are stabilized and long term memories came back and starting communcating with us almost as a normal person. The most bothersome symptom now is that he feels thirsty all the time although he is not dehydrated because he is on IV drips. He craves about very hot water or cold water but he can not handle leukewarm water. He would feel nausea if given lukewarm water. He still does not have much apetite yet. Thanks.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. It seems that your brother in law has suffered an internal head injury which is responsible for this altered behaviour of his. This will gradually improve in next 6-8 weeks as the hematoma gradually recovers. Please do not worry. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
